Unfortunately I don't exactly know what you mean by preview AS (Android Studio maybe?) .

I tested the app on a Pixel 5 device with the latest Android 12 developer preview.

Regarding your question for the gradle plugin: I already updated the android gradle plugin to 7.0.2 before this migration process. Therefore it wasn't part of this article. Do you experience any issues with this step?
